2/20/2006 - Don's homegoing
Dear family and friends,
Don went home to be with the Lord early Sunday morning. I am including the arrangements for you. Your love and prayers mean more than you could ever know. Joe Donald Beard, age 71, of Birmingham, died on February 19, at home, after a long illness. He attended Howard College and graduated from the University of South Carolina. He served in the military and was honorably discharged in 1956. Later in life, Don became an ordained minister and founded Shepherd's Fold Ministry in Birmingham. Don was a member of Altadena Valley Presbyterian Church.
A private funeral service for family & friends will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, February 22, 2006 at Ridout's Brown Service Roebuck Parkway. Visitation from 10:00-11:00 a.m. Burial to follow, Forest Crest Cemetery 5730 Highway 78 East Birmingham, AL 35210. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Shepherd's Fold, 1134 -A Princeton Ave., Birmingham, AL 35211.
A memorial service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, February 23rd Altadena Valley Presbyterian Church 4660 Caldwell Mill Rd. Birmingham, AL 35243 followed by a reception 3525 Countrywood Lane, Vestavia Hills, AL 35243.
