This morning I read Psalm 103:2 "Bless the Lord, O my soul, and forget not all His benefits."
I told Don, "I cannot even name all His wondrous benefits!"
Daily we have been loved and encouraged by the phone calls, emails and visits of God's people. Don has now lived longer than the doctors predicted, and this afternoon the hospice nurse is going to draw some blood. Prior to hospice Don had begun to faint rather regularly, sometimes more than twice a day. The doctors told us that was due to the low volume and quality of his blood (his hemoglobin was down to 8 when normal was 14-18). All of the medicine he had been taking had not made any improvement. It has now been three weeks since Don fainted, and although he doesn't eat as much as he once did, he has an appetite and seems to have improved. We requested that a blood test be taken so we can know if his bone marrow has begun to manufacture blood on its own. Whether God heals Don and takes him home or heals him and leaves him here, we know that whatever healing occurs is from God.
We are keenly aware of your love and prayers, and we ask that you continue to pray that God be glorified in our lives. In the closing days/hours of 2004, we are trusting God to "continue to perform the good work He began in each of us."
